Better Late Than Never?

I had heard about this a while back, and it looks like it’s coming true. Britney’s camp is releasing the Onyx Hotel Tour DVD.

Seems odd, being that it’s been eight, yes EIGHT years since Britney went on that tour. I remember they broadcasted that show on Showtime—-live from Miami. Apparently, this is the Miami one.

I wasn’t too impressed with the Showtime broadcast. The actual concert was good, but the producing of the broadcasted one was poor. I didn’t like the camera angles or how it was executed. Nonetheless, I’d probably still buy this DVD because, well, I’m a fan.

In my opinion, this was such a bittersweet era for Britney. The Onyx Hotel tour got cancelled after Britney hurt her knee again on the set of her music video for “Outrageous.” This was also when she met Kevin Federline, in what many would call the beginning of Britney’s downward spiral.

For me, Britney’s “Dream within a Dream” tour was by far my favorite! I saw that show so many times in concert. I even went to the second leg of the tour (the one that was slightly different with a few remixed songs) twice. Loved, loved, loved!

Scream & Shout

So the song and music video for will.i.am’s and Britney’s “Scream & Shout” finally premiered.

I was reading a review that I highly disagreed with. For one, the author said something along the lines of how the song had no real verse or chorus and was just a bunch of repetitive statements with beats behind them. While that’s true on the surface, it’s still a great club song. Something that definitely gets stuck in your head and something you can move to.

Another criticism was that the song used the old, tired phrase, “It’s Britney, bitch.” Hah! This person must not be a fan, because I think it’s pretty safe to say that phrase is not old and tired. I’m sure every Britney fan gets a little excited when you hear “It’s Britney, bitch.” And I don’t know about you, but I get excited when I hear it because it brings back memories of a great song, “Gimme More.” And for me, that song is a song that didn’t get the credit it deserved because that was a time during Britney’s life where things were…well, you know. All of that overshadowed it, so any chance I get to hear or see “Gimme More,” I’ll take it. I wasn’t too thrilled with the Egyptian-themed version she performed during her “Femme Fatale” tour, but hey, I still took it! :)

All-in-all, the song is fun. The video is fun. And we really don’t expect anything much deeper than that. An infectious song by the Queen of Pop. Well, it’s not really “her” song, but c’mon—you know that’s what makes it great! :)

Things Could Get Nasty in Britney-Lutfi Trial

Britney’s been in a heck of a good place lately. The X Factor gig is going great, she’s engaged to her boyfriend, Jason Trawick and reportedly, wedding plans are underway. But Britney’s past could be coming back to haunt her—that infamous breakdown she had a few years ago.

Sam Lutfi, the guy who had the audacity to call himself Britney’s manager is suing her—and major details about Britney’s public meltdown are set to be aired out in a Los Angeles court this week.

Lutfi is suing Britney for libel, defamation, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and breach of contract. Uhm, those ALL sound like things Britney should be suing him over. What an ass! Oh, and he also wants a portion of the money made from Britney’s 2007 album, “Blackout” since he claims he was her manager at the time. Yeah, great job “managing” her during that time. What a jackass! It’s clear Lutfi’s motive has been money from the start. He never did nor will care about Britney.

The trial is expected to last three weeks. It’s not clear if Britney will take the stand or not. Hopefully she doesn’t have to endure much of this. And hopefully things don’t get too nasty and Britney can get rid of this mess ASAP—-girl’s got some judging to do! :)

I LOVE Britney on X Factor

I’ve been so busy, it’s taken me nearly a week to sit down and write a little on the big X Factor premiere! In short, I was not disappointed.

I had never been really familiar with X Factor and its format. But when I caught the two-hour season premiere, I really enjoyed the way the show was produced, edited and the overall flow.

Of course, my big reason for tuning in was to see Britney in action. And truly, she didn’t disappoint. She was beyond charming. I was really surprised to hear how well she critiqued some of the contestants. It was refreshing hearing her sound more put together. And there was none of that awkward, low, monotone sounding Britney we’ve heard in the past. Anyone remember Britney’s MTV special, “I Am the Femme Fatale”?! We thought she was sick, but that awkwardness showed up on more than one occasion. Who knows, maybe she was sick or something one more than one occasion, but there was definitely something “missing” sometimes. When you watch those “odd” videos alone, you might not catch it. But if you look up older interviews of Britney and compare, you can definitely see/hear a difference. Anyhow, enough of that.

One thing I noticed and loved was how much the show hyped Britney. It was so epic the way she was introduced when the show started. And I absolutely LOVED that “It’s Britney, bitch” montage of her giving “mean” critiques, haha!

But it seems even the power of Britney wasn’t enough to bring in the ratings the show was hoping for. Nielsen ratings show that about 8.5 million people tuned in to watch Britney and the other judges in action. Seems like a lot, but that’s actually down 3.5 million from X Factor’s 2011 season premiere. X Factor also got beat out by “America’s Got Talent” and “The Voice.” But it’s not all bad news. FOX did manage to nab the most 18-49 viewers — which is the demographic advertisers love!

A “slow” start, but we think things will pick up…especially with the live shows. Overall, I’m really happy with how it’s all started. Britney’s doing great, the chemistry with the judges is there and there’s some very memorable contestants already, like little Carley Rose Sonenclar. She was so cute and so talented! And I was really surprised with Jason Brock. I thought he was just going to be some loud, obnoxious gay guy, but wow, was I wrong! Can’t wait to see more of those two.

And was it just me, or was Don Philip on something? He seemed tweaked out or something. Very odd behavior. (I know, I know, they edited out the big emotional coming out of the closet part) but still…he was weird. And I was surprised at how bad he auditioned. His voice is not bad. He sounds great on the duet with Britney, “I Will Still Love You.” But over the years, he’s definitely tried singing “different” — almost like he was trying to sound sultry and sexy. Didn’t work. But Don wasn’t as weird or bad as Patrick Ford — the overly obsessed Britney fan. Haha! Crazy at it’s best!

I can’t wait to see what other interesting contestants the show brings. Oh, and of course…more Britney! :)

X Factor WITHOUT Britney?! Say It Ain't So!

It ain’t so! Buuuuuttt, Britney did almost quit the X Factor gig after just one day! Well, not even after—more like DURING!

Remember when Britney reportedly walked off the set during Day 1 of auditions in Austin, TX? The rumors began flying and tweets were sent out about the empty judge seat. Then Britney (or her damage control team) sent a tweet out saying she was just “taking a break.” The excuse seemed slightly suspicious to me (and pretty much everyone else) and what do you know—turns out there was more to the story.

Simon Cowell says Britney had a panic attack and at one point told him she wasn’t sure if she would be able to do it.

You know, it’s still surprising to me that someone so huge—literally one of the biggest pop stars of my generation—and she’s insecure? It’s really humbling to know she’s just like everyone else and still has those fears and insecurities. But there’s that part of me that would be like “I’m the Queen of Fuckin’ Pop” *hair flip* LoL!

All we have to say is we’re glad Simon convinced Britney to do it! From the look of all the promos that have been airing, we’re pretty sure she’s going to kick some ass.

The X Factor premieres next week, September 12 at 8/7c on FOX! Consider my DVR set! Cannot wait!

There’s even a crazy contestant that accuses Demi Lovato of using auto-tune during her live performances. We would have DIED laughing if Britney would have raised her hand and been like “No, that’s me.” LOL! She didn’t, but hey, it would have been funny.

NFL Kickoff Show

The New York Giants went up against the Dallas Cowboys earlier in the NFL kickoff game. Before the game, Mariah and No Doubt took the stage for the NFL Kickoff Show. We didn’t see No Doubt’s performance, but we saw Mariah’s. Uhm…it could have been better!

Brought back a little memory for me — THIS is how you kick off the NFL! ;)

A Look Back at Britney's MTV VMA Performance History

The MTV Video Music Awards are right around the corner. So as we get ready to honor those who had a big year in music, it’s also a time to take a look back.

You can’t think of the VMAs without thinking of Britney. In fact, she became a staple for top-notch performances since her debut on the award show.

1999

This was Britney’s big debut, and it was highly anticipated because she would be performing with NSync. Although, they didn’t actually perform “together” — Britney just sort of “introduced them” in song before they came out to perform “Tearin’ Up My Heart.” I remember being slightly disappointed with that. I was also hoping Britney would have had more stage time. But overall, it was still a great performance. Although, Britney felt MTV VMA host, Chris Rock, “totally lowered the vibe” of the performance when he introduced them because he said something along the lines if the audience was ready for some “lip-sycning.” Lip-sycning or not, I still loved it!

2000

Remember more of that stage time I was hoping Britney would get in 1999?! Well, MTV made up for it and gave Britney a hell of a lot of time for an awesome performance. The year 2000 brought Britney’s medley of “Satisfaction” and “Oops…I Did It Again.” Britney absolutely KILLED it. I know I’m not alone when I say I was in shock when she ripped off her suit to reveal her skin colored, sparkly outfit. I remember thinking for a split second that she had a wardrobe malfunction and was naked. Britney’s body was in tip-top shape and the energy on this performance was incredible. This is by far my favorite MTV VMA Britney performance.

2001

The 2001 MTV VMAs was the year of the snake! This was a risky performance for Britney because not many had heard the song “I’m a Slave 4 U,” much less seen her perform it. So while the audience couldn’t really engage with Britney and sing along to the song, it didn’t matter. Britney came out looking hot, with an awesome body and awesome outfit. And she uped the performance when she brought out her slithery friend. When asked what their favorite VMA performance was, many seem to remember this one. I really liked it, but for me, this one doesn’t top her 2000 performance. In regards to this performance, though, Britney recently tweeted that she was curious as to what ever happened to the snake. She later found out it was alive and well and had been named Banana, lol!

2003

If we thought Britney couldn’t top the snake stunt. We were wrong! In 2003, Britney made a surprise performance. It began with the song “Like a Virgin” and it was a case of deja vu because it looked a lot like Madonna’s 1984 MTV VMA performance. People assumed it was Madonna underneath the wedding veil, but we were all surprised to see Britney underneath it singing the first notes to the song,

“I made it through the wilderness.”

Christina Aguilera later joined to duet with Britney. Madonna then took the stage to sing her song, “Hollywood.” And then…the infamous threesome kiss took place. Madonna took her turn kissing Britney, then turning to Christina. Sadly for Christina, her kiss was overlooked and everyone focused on Britney and Madonna. This was pretty iconic considering Britney was well-known for referring to Madonna as her idol growing up. It was almost like a passing of the torch. A great performance, with good shock value. It was definitely one for the books!

2007

Where do I even begin with this one? First off, this performance was not as bad as the media made it seem. Any Britney fan, hell at this point, anyone can tell you Britney had a big meltdown in her personal life, which clearly seeped into her professional life. The problem with this performance from the beginning was that Britney had been out of the spotlight professionally (her personal crap was still all over the media), so this performance immediately got labeled as the big comeback performance. Aside from that, at this point in her career, Britney was the queen of MTV VMA performances, so people were expecting a lot. Well, Britney failed to deliver. Strip all of those expectations away, and the performance really wasn’t bad. Britney’s outfit? It was cute, but it was not suited well for her body at that time. What really pissed me off is how the media portrayed her as some fat, obese cow. There’s something truly wrong with America if we as a society deem the above picture as someone who is incredibly fat. As a mother of two at the time, Britney looked incredible! As for the hair—sorry Britney, we can’t defend that one. One thing that really saved the performance was the song. The song alone is a great one. While certainly not Britney’s best performance, for me it was still enjoyable and I am still somehow strangely fascinated by it.

While Britney has made appearances on the show since her 2007 performance, she has yet to take the stage and perform again.

So while we get ready for the 2012 MTV VMAs, MTV went and asked celebs which epic moment they remembered—and many chose Britney and her 2001 snake performance. The results of the online poll they took will be announced on September 5. The 2012 MTV VMAs will premiere September 6 at 8/7c.

FINALLY!!! An X Factor Promo ALL About Britney!

Color us excited!

There’s been a slew of promos for the upcoming season of X Factor, and finally, we have one all about Britney! Woohoo!

Now, we’ve been over this before —- we know Britney went through a rather, uhm, “awkward” stage. There were a few interviews and times she appeared on TV that just seemed odd. She didn’t seem like she was there and just seemed a little off.

Well, if this preview shows us anything, it shows us that Britney is back and more adorable than ever. I’m so glad to see her doing better and having that cute, bubbly personality that Britney fans fell in love with way back in the day!

Britney's Going to Start Making the Media Rounds

With the premiere of the X Factor only weeks away, Britney is getting ready to make the rounds on the daytime and latenight talk shows.

Britney tweeted that she’ll be on The Ellen Show on September 11.

The next day, she’s reportedly making a stop on Jimmy Kimmel Live on September 12. And she won’t be alone. Simon will also be joining her!

Aside from some awesome performances on both shows, Britney’s done some cute skits, too.

Hopefully they come up with something funny this time around. I can’t wait until the media tour for the X Factor starts. And of course, I can’t wait for the X Factor to start. September 12, at 8/7c on FOX —- we all get to get our Britney fix!

It's Official: Britney Collaborating w/ Will.i.am

First Will.i.am helped Britney out on her Femme Fatale album with the song, “Big Fat Bass.” Now it looks like Britney is returning the favor.

There were rumors that Britney would be making an appearance on Will.i.am’s new album, and guess what—it’s true! Britney tweeted the news earlier!

And get this, Will.i.am isn’t only collaborating with Britney on the song “Reach for the Stars,” he’s also working with NASA! The song will debut live from the surface of Mars via NASA’s Curiosity rover. NASA even confirmed it in a statement. It’ll debut at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

This is just too cool.

And c’mon Britney fans, we all know this isn’t Britney’s first experience on Mars, lol!

X Factor Contestant/Judge Categories

I’ve never followed any of the X Factor shows closely, so I’ve never been too familiar with what the process is for contestants from beginning to end; nor how the judges come into play.

I was surprised to read that there’s been quite the change for the upcoming season of the show.

According to PerezHilton, last year Simon Cowell took the female solo singers ages 12-29. L.A. Reid took the groups and Nicole Scherzinger took the contestants over the age of 30.

Out with the old, in with the new!

Demi Lovato will be working with male and female solo singers between the ages of 12-16.
Britney Spears will be working with male and female solo singers between the ages of 17-24.
L.A. Reid will be working with male and female solo singers over the age of 25.
Simon Cowell gets the groups.

The change is probably for the best. Demi can definitely relate to the younger members and the age range for Britney is perfect!

We can’t say we’re not excited! X Factor makes it debut on FOX on September 12 & 13 at 8/7c. Tune in!

Is a Reunion in the Works?!

One of the highlights of Britney’s career was the 2003 MTV VMAs. Everyone remembers that performance with the infamous kiss.

Madonna, Britney, Christina Aguilera and Missy Elliot hit the stage with a medley of Madonna’s “Like a Virgin” and “Hollywood.” While Madonna kissed both Britney AND Christina, sadly for Christina, Britney’s seemed to be the one EVERYONE was talking about.

Well, Madonna is on tour right now (we’re sure you’ve seen the pics of boob and ass) and the Twitter world is abuzz after these tweets popped up.

And there you have it, folks. It looks like we may be getting a reunion Britney fans would die for. If they do re-do the whole “kiss performance,” I wonder how they’ll change it up?! Maybe Britney and Christina will kiss this time?

Only time will tell. C’mon October!!!

Is Britney Passing Off Old Pictures as New Ones?!

You know, we thought the picture looked familiar and then we came across an article online claiming that this picture is an old one of Britney.

But, Britney just tweeted this picture a few days ago asking her fans if they were ready for summer to end because she wasn’t—so what gives?!

Who knows, but apparently Kim Kardashian is guilty of it, too.

We did a little digging and sure enough, the picture is from the photoshoot Britney did for OK! Magazine after she got her “bikini body” back.

The article makes it seem, though that Britney was trying to deceive her fans, lol! We think otherwise. Britney’s been posting a lot of funny and cute postings lately…especially with little things from the past. Like her post about Mars…

Britney Says She's Ready!

Britney had a meeting regarding her conservatorship and says she’s ready for it to end. Britney’s personal and professional life have been handled closely by her father, Jamie Spears and her attorney since her big breakdown in 2008.

However, reports say that Britney told the judge that she’s OK having a conservatorship over her professional life—she just wants to regain control of her personal affairs. And rightfully so! She’s come such a long way since 2008. She’s released successful albums, has gone on tour, landed the XFactor gig, has been a great mother to her two sons, found love and is engaged. What more does she have to do to prove herself?! We’re totally onboard for Britney regaining control…even if it’s just of her personal life. The girl deserves it!

So what’s working against Britney? Supposedly her doctors don’t think she’s ready.

Another meeting is scheduled between Britney and the judge in 60 days.

On a slight side note, I was watching the Britney documentary “For the Record” the other night. I would recommend anyone who hasn’t seen it, to watch it. It’ll give you a whole new perspective of Britney. I really feel the way she’s portrayed in it shows that she’s ready to take control of her life again. She just went through a lot of heavy stuff that most of us would crumble under, too.
